The State News reports that the East Lansing City Council passed a resolution this week to no longer observe the Federally mandated 'holiday' of Columbus Day. Instead, the second Monday of October will now be called 'Indigenous People's Day'.

Ann Arbor, Traverse City and a handful of other cities across the nation have also made the same move in recent years.

And he NEVER SET FOOT on American soil. He was well south of here. I've never understood why we as a nation would honor Columbus.
