Toasters, blenders and flatware, all seem to be a thing of wedding gifts past. As my new bride Sara Marie and I looked through some of our amazing presents for our weekend nuptials, we were amazed the thoughtful creativity of a few of them.

Before I proceed, I must let everyone know that not one gift was any less than equally spectacular and that the "presence" of all in attendance was what we had hoped for, rather than "presents" (thanks Eoin).

One basket that was presented us featured memories of Michigan gone by. A menu from Don's Windmill Restaurant, with copies of Fred Trost's Practical Sportsman magazine, a Lansing State Journal Distinguished Service Carrier bag and of course, Michigan beer and wine.

Other gifts included two bottle of SarDur "WIld Reserve" wine. Aptly named to pay homage to the Wild Michigan Outdoors Radio Show. And finally, a small cask of our own whiskey. And with any luck, we can open it on our 10th anniversary as it will be aged well by then!

Overall, it was an amazing time with amazing people that have made up the fabric of our lives. Thank you!
