Peter Wolf Announced As DTE Tom Petty Opener

Through a press release today, promoters announced the opening act for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' 40th Anniversary Tour slated for July 18, 2017 at DTE Energy Music Theater. Longtime Detroit Area favorite Peter Wolf will open up the only Michigan show scheduled on the tour.

Wolf, the long time front man for J. Geils Band recently wrapped up a tour in support of his most recent 2016 album A Cure For Loneliness, and has also announced a handful of solo dates in 2017 in the Northeast. Coincidentally, the 40th Anniversary Tour swing into Boston one show following the Detroit date...Boston is where the J. Geils Band originated. Wolf will also open that show on July 20.
