The Lansing State Journal reports here that a woman let her son borrow her Lexus sedan last week, which was reportedly stolen from a gas station in Delta Township not long after her son took possession of it.

The woman then rented an SUV until she could get herself a new ride. She was driving the rented SUV past the Quality Dairy on Lansing Road near Dimondale the day after her car was swiped when she spotted her Lexus.

The woman wheeled into the QD and parked behind her stolen car, then jumped out of the SUV and into her car.

Sounds like 18 year old Jaysean Porter, above, walked out of the convenience store soon after, spotted the woman in the car he'd stolen the day before. He then allegedly let himself into the rented SUV and hit the highway. Made it about 85 miles before he was interrupted by the Michigan State Police.

He was charged this week.
