Sammy Hagar Rocks Common Ground 7/14/2010!

I go through fazes all the time in my ripe old age. (I thought that was supposed to stop at some point?) I still remember calling in to 94.9 when I was a kid. It wasn't WMMQ back then, but I remember the Dj's were always so rude to me. I thought, "wow, if I ever get a shot, I'll be a lot nicer to people." Here we are in year number 5 and I can't say, I haven't been rude to a few people who were terrorizing my time, but I try hard to make your listening experience more enjoyable. Shoot me an email joey@wmmq.com or click the link at the bottom to check me out on Facebook. Thanks for listening!

My broadcast career started in August of 2002. I was recovering from an at work accident and needed a career change. It started with attending the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield. I talked my way into becoming an intern for 94.9 WMMQ and 100.7 WITL in Lansing at the legendary Wittle White House. I had the honor of working with the late Jay J McCrae who showed me how to efficiently edit with Cool Edit. I loved how easy it was and treated it like a video game. I graduated on October 18th and was offered a job at WJIM AM as a board operator. I produced a show on WJIM AM called "The Wilson Caldwell Show" and did the sports and weather, I filled in at 97.5 WJIM FM, WITL, 730 AM WVFN, and helped produced the morning show on 94.9 WMMQ. In January of 2005, I was offered the Afternoon position at WMMQ. Since then I have become the Production Assistant, Assistant Program Director and Website Director.
