(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Well, I've been on a short hiatus for vacation, and so has the Six O'Clock Triple Shot. In fact, the return is even shorter as we will cease the feature for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. After that, I will be long gone until January 5, 2015. That means this is our final Triple Shot of 2014.

Sad news hit the Rock 'n' Roll world yesterday as we learned of the passing of Joe Cocker. Cocker lost a long battle with lung cancer at the age of 70. The British singer began his music career in the late 1950's with a band called the Cavaliers. In the '60s he went on to form the Grease Band before hitting stardom in 1969 at Woodstock with a great rendition of "With A Little Help From My Friends". Countless covers, with only the touch that Cocker could lend, originals, duets, and soundtrack songs would define his legacy. The last Top 40 hit for Joe Cocker would be 1989's "When The Night Comes", but he continued to successfully tour until 2013.

Tonight, we feature three from the late Joe Cocker...a small sample of what Wally Londo will have for you for this weekend's All-Request Saturday Night. Tune in for "With A Little Help From My Friends", "You Can Leave Your Hat On", and "Feelin' Alright". It's tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot on 94.9 WMMQ.
