This day in history, December 4, 1980, a simple press release ended a legendary 13 year run for one of rock and roll's greatest bands. Led Zeppelin called it quits 33 years ago today, just weeks on the heels of drummer John Bonham's passing. This news broke the hearts of fans worldwide, but none more than those who had tickets to the 1980 Pontiac Silverdome show that never was. I hear some of those original tickets still exist, and are worth some good money. Most tickets were sent back to the promoter for a refund, never to be seen again.
