(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Tonight, we look back on another day in rock history. 24 years ago, February 17, 1990, Aerosmith was the featured music act on NBC's Saturday Night Live as Tom Hanks was the host. Not only did Boston's favorite rockers perform their two music sets, they made a cameo appearance on Wayne's World, the brainchild of Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. The Wayne's World skit was still in its infancy, well before the silver screen version was delivered. Tom Hanks played the role of Barry, Garth Algar's cousin and Aerosmith roadie. In exchange for an appearance on the show, Barry arranged for the band to appear in Wayne Campbell's basement. Hilarity ensued...here's a video link to the skit footage.

Tonight, in addition to three Aerosmith songs, you will hear a few clips from the skit, including a portion of the Wayne's World Theme Song done by Wayne, Garth, and the band. Your featured songs tonight will be the two songs that Aerosmith performed on SNL that night..."Janie's Got A Gun" and "Monkey On My Back" from the Pump LP; and "Seasons of Wither" from Get Your Wings...a fitting song as this winter season is definitely making feel like I'm withering. It's the Six O'Clock Triple Shot, only on 94.9 WMMQ!!
