(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Elton John is making some noise this week. Today just happens to mark the 46th anniversary of the rock legend ditching his birth name, Reginald Dwight, for his Elton John moniker. Also, Elton's classic LP Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is set for a reissue as a remastered deluxe set next week. What makes it deluxe? Well, a remastered original score, a 9-song tribute disc, CD format, vinyl, DVD...basically, the works!! As if that wasn't enough, a cinema version of an Elton show in Las Vegas, Million Dollar Piano debuts March 18.

It's busy times for Sir Elton John. We'll pay homage to his new accomplishments with three from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tonight: "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding", "Bennie and The Jets", and, of course, the title track. It's tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot, on 94.9 WMMQ!
