(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Another day in rock & roll history is observed today as the best selling LP from The Cars was released this day, 30 years ago. Heartbeat City, produced by super producer John "Mutt" Lange, hit U.S. store shelves on March 13, 1984. The Cars were enjoying the rebound success of their 1982 Shake It Up LP, while Lange was basking in the glory of his work on Def Leppard's Pyromania album. The album was also recorded and released right in the prime of the music video revolution. The Cars were certainly all over that fad. The video for "Drive" featured supermodel, and future Mrs. Ric Ocasek, Paulina Porzkova. Andy Warhol directed and appeared in the adult themed video for "Hello Again". And, Ric Ocasek did his best impression of the almighty J.C., walking on pool water for the "Magic" video. Five singles, all hitting high marks on Billboard Charts, were extracted from Heartbeat City, while other album cuts quickly became live favorites of The Cars fanbase.

Tonight, we hear three of those singles for your Six O'Clock Triple Shot, "Hello Again", "Why Can't I Have You", and "You Might Think", only on 94.9 WMMQ!!
