(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

We celebrate another rock and roll birthday tonight, as ZZ Top's Dusty Hill turns 65. One of the founding members, Hill has been apart of ZZ Top since the band's inception in Houston, TX in 1969. Originally, Hill and Frank Beard had a blues-act with Dusty's brother Rocky. When Rocky wanted to leave the band's hometown of Dallas, he wanted a straight up blues band. Dusty and Beard had other ideas, and formed ZZ Top with Billy Gibbons, who hailed from a psychedelic rock background. Currently, the band is set to embark on a 2014 tour with Jeff Beck. The tour will hit DTE Energy Music Theater on August 27.

Tonight, three songs from ZZ Top for your Six O'Clock Triple Shot: "Just Got Paid" from 1972's Rio Grande Mud, "Gimme All Your Lovin'" from Eliminator, and "Stages" from 1985's Afterburner. It's another audible birthday celebration, on 94.9 WMMQ!
