(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

We look at a day in Rock and Roll history tonight, as Elton John began a tour of The USSR. Prior to Elton, no other artist from the Western World had ever done so. Of course, this happened in the middle of the cold war. It's impact on history speaks for itself. More recently, Elton just re-released Goodbye Yellow Brick Road as a Deluxe Edition for the 40th Anniversary of the classic LP.

Tonight, three from Sir Elton to mark his day in history: "All The Young Girls Love Alice" from Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, off of Tumbleweed Connection "Where To Now St. Peter?", and also from Yellow Brick, "Bennie and The Jets". It's tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot on 94.9 WMMQ!
