(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

It's another rock and roll birthday to celebrate tonight, as Alex Van Halen turns 61. The drummer of the legendary band that shares his name started his musical endeavors learning to play classical piano, like his brother Eddie. When the Van Halen family moved to Southern California from The Netherlands, the Van Halen boys had high hopes of becoming accomplished musicians, like their father Jan, who was a jazz musician. Ironically, Alex originally wanted to learn guitar, and Eddie was delivering papers to save up for a drum kit. One day, Eddie heard Alex play "Wipeout" by The Surfaris to perfection...and the rest, as they say, is history.

Tonight, three Van Halen tunes to celebrate Alex's birthday for your Six O'Clock Triple Shot: from Women And Children First, "Everybody Wants Some", "As Is" from 2011's A Different Kind Of Truth, "So This Is Love" from Fair Warning. Only on 94.9 WMMQ!
