(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

We look back on a day in Rock 'N' Roll history tonight. It was 26 years ago that Van Halen's second LP of the Sammy Hagar era held the top spot on the Billboard 200 Album chart. OU812 held the top spot for four consecutive weeks, fueled by such heavy hitting singles as "Black and Blue", "Feels So Good", "Finish What You Started", and the power ballad "When It's Love". There is lots of speculation about how the album's title came to be. My favorite, and most cited explanation, is that the band wanted to subtly respond to former front man David Lee Roth's 1987 LP title Eat 'Em And Smile...hence "Oh, you ate one too?"

Coincidentally, eight years later, to the day, VH would part ways with Hagar as they announced a what proved to be short lived reunion with DLR.

Tonight, we play three of those super singles from OU812: "Finish What You Started", "When It's Love", and "Feels So Good". It's tonight's Six O'Clock Triple Shot on 94.9 WMMQ!
