(The Six O'Clock Triple Shot is a daily feature of three songs that share a common theme, heard weeknights on 94.9 WMMQ)

Well, it only took 37 years; only 13 studio LP's; 9 Number One songs on the Rock Charts. But, finally, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have a Number One Album. In its debut week, the latest effort Hypnotic Eye has sold in excess of 131,000 copies, earning its place atop this week's Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. (On a side note...the Number 2 slot this week belongs to other Classic Rockers...Eric Clapton & Friends' JJ Cale Tribute LP sold 61,000 copies.) This marks Petty's best one week sales effort since Wildflowers sold 161,000 copies the week after Christmas 1994. 2010's Mojo LP also came close to the top, peaking at Number 2 after selling 125,000 copies in its first week. Currently, the band is on tour in support of Hypnotic Eye. They hit DTE Energy Music Theater on August 24...and so do I!!

Tonight, we sample this week's Number One Album for your Six O'Clock Triple Shot. Tune in to hear the new songs "American Dream Plan B", "Forgotten Man (featured on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last week), and "U Get Me High", only on 94.9 WMMQ!!
