Need to tire out the kids tomorrow? Here's a way to get them away from the screens and taking in some fresh air - check out the South Lansing Farmers Market Kids Festival!

(For what it's worth, a new survey says that with digital and other distractions, the average child spends just an hour a week outdoors...and this recent study reported by higherperspectives.com indicates that the more time we spend in nature, the less of a 'jerk' we're likely to be.)

The South Lansing Farmers Market Kids Festival will have a firetruck on display, an inflatable obstacle course and yard games. The  featured nonprofit of the Festival is the Rainbow Child Care Center in South Lansing; they'll have a booth with a sand table, arts & crafts, and a hula hooping station!

Deacon Earl will play live Blues music from 3-5 PM, then from 5-7 PM it will be  or a grand performance by the ladies from Shahira Dance & Fitness (5-7 pm).
The location is 800 W. Barnes, Lansing, in the parking lot at St. Casimir Church.

And, or course, the actual South Lansing Farmers Market is open from 3-7 PM.
