Megen Hurst lived with the symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis from her late teens to her early 30s before doctors finally found a diagnosis. Prescribed treatment ranged from prescription drugs to low-doses of chemotherapy (!), none of which were making her feel good.

A couple of years ago, she and her husband began researching how food might be a factor in her health and well being. It was.

Megen says, "...heal your gut, that's where it stems from". You can listen to my interview with Megen here about how she came to a place where she feels SO much better now.

Seeking a better way to live also led to the creation of Oh Mi Organics, the chocolate company the couple created after they found a healthier alternative to most commercially available chocolate. What started as a sweet treat for the family, led to creating a business that has quickly grown as more people try their chocolates - and NOW they're opening a storefront in downtown St. Johns! The Lansing State Journal has more on that part of the story here.
