As we approach the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of our Nation's Independence, a serious matter confronts revelers in Michigan. Due to the dry conditions, burn bans have already been established and now the State's FIre Marshall is contemplating a temporary ban on personal use fireworks.

The discussion on a state level is underway according to State Fire Marshall, Julie Secontine. An article from the Detroit Free Press is also stating that the Village of Holly ion Oakland County, is not waiting and has issued a ban on personal use fireworks already.

Common sense would dictate that the use of personal fireworks be put on hold until conditions improve. But then again....
