Stench, Maggots and Raw Sewage Coming Through Drains at Jackson Prison
The Detroit Free Press reports that back in August 2016, a Corrections employee complained about retched air and raw sewage coming up through the shower drains at the Parnall Correctional Facility near Jackson, which prompted an investigation by MIOSHA.
Last month, inmates were shoveling raw sewage out of the prison basement. Sounds like that mess was packed in a big metal trash bin and shipped off to the landfill.
The prison was place on quarantine Friday through Sunday this past weekend due to a norovirus outbreak.
