If you've never taken a tour of Michigan's State Capitol building, you're not a true Lansing resident. Admittedly, I've only been on elementary school tours back in the early 1980's myself. Having said that, I forgot what an amazing piece of architecture we have downtown.

Well, now, anybody who wants to can take a virtual tour of the building at their leisure, thanks to the Michigan State Capitol Commission. They have launched a website that's one-of-a-kind in the United States. It uses Google's Streetview technology to give viewers a detailed look at the building. There is also a 3-D tour of the Governor's Office, and 360-degree YouTube videos give an even more interactive experience. Below is a 360-degree YouTube video of the Capitol Rotunda.
