MLive.com reports that 34 year old Linda Stevenson wants to have a pet squirrel monkey in her Bay City home, but the city says, "No."

Stevenson says she used to have a little spider monkey named "Peanut", but she had to sell him because she moved around a lot back then. She says she's got the time now that she's a stay-at-home mom. She already put a $2,000.00 deposit down with a breeder to get her little monkey pal, then checked city ordinance. Whoops. The law doesn't allow for pet monkeys.

She petitioned the city to allow for an exception, but they're not budging. Sounds like Stevenson plans to appeal. Get all the details (and a creepy picture of the monkey with a cute human baby) here.
