An article at mlive.com caught my attention this evening. Apparently, the announcement two weeks ago of the Meijer Gardens summer concert slate caught the attention of its members.

MLive is reporting that 21 of the 30 concerts sold out to its members on the first day of ticket sales Saturday. As I check the Meijer Gardens website, that count is up to 23 sold out shows. MLive reports that Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne shows sold out in ten minutes of the box office opening.

Ticket sales to the general public won't even go on sale until May 14. By then, it's likely to be slim pickings, if any pickings at all. Meijer Gardens always opens up ticket sales to its 1,900 seat venue to its more than 29,000 members first and foremost. Gone are the opportunities to see Raitt, Browne, ABBA, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gregg Allman, America, The Beach Boys, Ziggy Marley, and Tears For Fears.

So, which seven shows are not sold out yet? Fitz and The Tantrums, The Monkees 50th Anniversary, A Night With Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, Femi Kuti and The Positive Force Band, Seal, War and Los Lonely Boys, and Jay Leno. Visit the Meijer Gardens website for more information.
