Deyonta Davis was one of the big stories of the NBA Draft on Thursday, and not for the normal good reasons.

After being projected to go as high as a lottery pick, Davis fell all the way to the second round, where the Boston Celtics selected him at No. 31 overall -- then traded him to Memphis.

Davis averaged 7.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 18.6 minutes per game his freshman year at Michigan State. Those numbers aren't necessarily gaudy, but his near-7-foot frame and natural defensive/shot-blocking ability led many to predict he would be a highly sought-after player drafted on potential.

MSU coach Tom Izzo said he thinks Davis' tumble down the draft order had less to do with his abilities and more to do with his shyness. Hear his explanation in the video above.
