It was a scary start to the madness that is March for the University of Michigan basketball team. WLNS.com reports that the team's plane skidded off of a runway at Ypsilanti's Willow Run Airport after the pilot aborted takeoff during Wednesday's windstorm.

According to the report, the team and coaching staff were aboard the flight headed to Washington D.C. for the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament along with cheerleaders, band members and family members of the coaching staff. The plane reportedly suffered major damage, some passengers were described as banged up by Michigan Coach John Beilein. But, no major injuries were reported.

An alternate travel plan is being put together for the team.
