It's getting pretty bad for some people in Portland.

According to the Ionia County Central Dispatch E911 Facebook page, ice jams are causing flooding and at the moment water rescues are being executed to get people to safety.

The Bridge over the Grand River in the City of Portland of closed due to the ice hitting the bridge. So Grand River Ave between Kent St and Water St is closed-we will update as soon as we know the official routes that traffic will be detoured on.

The ice jam is flooding many parts of the City of Portland. The jams are hitting the bridges in the City-causing the closure of all of them. There is many rescues and evacuations in process. Please stay out of the area of the river!!

The Portland City Hall is set up as a temporary shelter for those being evacuated.

The Ionia County Sheriff issued a press release yesterday that stated that all Ionia County Courts and business offices would be closed today but the Sheriff's office, Central Dispatch and essential personnel would be on the job to keep people safe, as they are doing today.
Get all the information here from the Ionia County Central Dispatch E911 Facebook page and take a look at the photos above to see how the flooding has affected Portland.
Our thoughts and best wishes go out to our friends in Portland during this time.
