An interesting proposal has been put in front of Lansing city officials that could potentially be a nice revenue stream for the Department of Parks and Recreation. According to the City Pulse, a development group wants to lease city park land located along the Grand River for a ropes course and zip-line that would send riders across the river and back. Capitol Zip has worked with city parks officials to draft an official plan that would utilize land along Saginaw Street  between Grand Avenue and Center Street. Capitol Zip would lease the land for 10 years for an undetermined amount, and would donate a portion of its gate fees to The Department of Parks and Recreation and to the Lansing Promise program. Capitol Zip would also assume all insurance liabilities.

A final decision now lies in the hands of Lansing City Council.
