11 Days Until Michigan’s Bow Season Opens
With the youth hunt, Liberty hunt and early does season out of the way, Michigan bow hunters will be the next in line for their chance at the whitetail deer in the Great Lakes State.
The question is, are you ready? Is your bow sighted in? Is all of your gear tuned and ready? It's just my opinion, but it seems to me that bow hunters seem to be a bit more prepared for the season and there's more of a buzz than the opening day of firearm deer season. On many occasions I have tried to finish out the bow season on November 14th and someone has just realized that the firearm season is tomorrow and they haven't sighted in yet or they need to put up a new blind or stand. Totally shocked that season is upon them!
Aside from the obvious, new regulations have emerged for those hunting in the CWD core zone that mandate that deer by checked at a DNR Deer Check Station.
Also, the MI DNR has added a new check station and Customer Service Center located at 4166 Legacy Parkway (off of Jolly, between Collins and Dunckel). And with the ever shrinking number of sporting goods stores, you can purchase hunting and fishing licenses there as well.
Best of luck to everyone!
