5 Tips On How To Survive East Lansing This Weekend!
This weekend is going to be crazy in East Lansing, Michigan. U of M is coming to town to take on the Spartans at Spartan Stadium. This is a prime time game and things could get crazy this weekend in the 48823. Michigan is ranked #2 and gametime is 7:30.
The MSU Spartans haven't played well at all this year. Michigan has been impressive since week one. There really isn't much on the line as far as records go, it would be nice to see MSU beat their biggest rival. After last year's tunnel incident in Ann Arbor after the game, I'm willing to bet that the incident is still on the minds of both teams. We will see.
Regardless of where you watch the game, it should be entertaining and hopefully fun for everyone.
5 Tips on How To Survive East Lansing This Weekend
Be prepared for anything to happen. Win or lose there will be a lot of emotion in East Lansing. A lot of the emotion will be fueled by a days worth of alcohol consumption well before the game starts.
5. Pace Yourself!
I used to get hammered at tailgates or at the bar. If we made it to the game that was a miracle. Stay hydrated. Don't be "that guy". We get caught up in the moment, don't get too caught up. I'm a recovering alcoholic, the games are more fun sober.
4. Eat Food!
Give your liver a break and eat periodically throughout the day. Soak up some of apple pie you've been drinking along with the cheap beer. Again, avoid being "that guy".
3. Get There Early
No matter where you are watching the game, get there early. The bars will be packed, tailgates will be bustling and the stadium will be jam packed with fans trying to get into the game early.
2. Don't Act Like A Jerk
I've mentioned "that guy" a few times. You don't have to be drunk to be "that guy". Nobody likes the know it all fan that talks smack to everyone they are surrounded by. MSU really has nothing to be cocky about as far as the team goes or the fans.
1. Mountain Dew and Popcorn
If all else fails and you need to sober up, grab some Mountain Dew and some popcorn. Trust me, I know this works. Sarcasm aside, no matter who wins or loses, let's just hope for a good game to watch. Nobody wants to read about the fights in the tunnel, the stands, the tailgates or the bars.
We are fans, let's act like it. It's awesome to lover your team, let's do it with class.
