Happy Holidays and (Drunk) Advent Calendar Mania at East Lansing Costco
It's just after Halloween and time for our yearly update of Christmas booze in the most traditional of forms.
Nope. Step away from the eggnog.
Welcome to our peek at some of this year's alcoholic Advent calendars.
Ok, so they're not all alcoholic but you wouldn't know that if you stepped into a Costco.
After stopping by this weekend, I had to snap a few photos of the latest offerings in Christmas calendar form.
Of course, we start off with what is the Advent calendar tradition?
The Advent calendar was first used by German Lutherans in the 19th and 20th centuries. The calendar windows open to reveal an image, a poem, a portion of a story (such as the story of the Nativity of Jesus), or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item. Often, each window has a Bibleverse and Christian prayer printed on it, which Christians incorporate as part of their daily Advent devotions.[4][7] Advent calendars may also have puzzles and games printed on their reverse side. While it's not a full calendar per se, they had these at Costco in Detroit and promptly sold out of them. Be on the lookout for, "The 12 Days of Cheese".
Let's get to the Christmas Concoctions at Costco.
Also coming in at not exactly a full month but "18 days will do", we submit the Supper Hoppy Holidays 2021 variety pack of beer.
Let's follow that up with this bad boy. How about a mini-keg of Christmas ale?
Beer plus Advent calendar brings us this...
And to compare, last year's version.
I like that these are annuals. Last year's version of the wine Advent calendar.
And this year's upgrade.
Please check your local Costco for availability and online. The 12 Days of Cheese and the Brewer's Advent Calendar were found at a Detroit Costco. The 2021 Wine Advent Calendar, mini keg, and Supper Hoppy Holidays were found at East Lansing Costco.
