American Car Breaks World Record

The "Worlds Fastest Car" race has been won by the American Hennessey Venom GT... For now. February 24th it hit 270.49 mph on the speedometer. The current title holder was the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, that hit 267.81 back n 2010. The new record setting car retails for around 1.2 million. So, this is as close as I will ever get to driving one. Check out the record breaking run below.

It's still an unofficial Guinness record, they have to make 2 runs and average it out but the record-breaking time was GPS-certified by Racelogic. The driver Brian Smith said it could be faster if they had more track at the Kennedy Space Center landing strip. Man, I love the way that kitty purred.
