An Open Letter to Michigan State Fans: Kenneth Walker Didn’t Win the Heisman, Get Over It
Since Kenneth Walker III wasn’t invited to New York for the Heisman Show on Saturday night there have been many unhappy people. This is the deal: get over it!
Kenneth Walker III was named the Doak Walker Award winner. That means he was voted the best running back in all of college football.
This is how I perceive this touchy subject. Walker didn’t get enough votes for the Heisman Trophy. That’s the bottom line. He had one dismal game versus Purdue that MSU lost. Then they got blown out versus THE Ohio State; he got hurt and hardly played.
But some of you MSU fans need to knock it off. He ended up sixth in the voting, which is great. Everyone knows he was voted and is the best running back in the country. I’m just trying to understand why people are so upset.
There are more important things to be upset about than Kenneth Walker III not winning the Heisman. He will be a millionaire if everything works out for him in the NFL. It just mystifies me how fans get so distraught over sports. This isn’t the end of the world.
MSU went 10-2 overall and will play Pitt in the Peach Bowl on December 30th. Maybe Walker won’t even play in this game. If he doesn’t no biggie. He was outstanding for the one year he came here from Wake Forest.
Just knock it off and move on. Kenneth Walker is a stellar athlete any way you slice it! It doesn't matter that he didn't win the Heisman.
