The Lansing State Journal has confirmed the rumors surrounding the site of the former Leo's Spirits and Grub in Okemos.

Crews tore the former building down last week. And, social media started buzzing about what may be replacing it. Now we know for sure.

A multi-tenant commercial center (i.e. strip mall) will be built at the corner of Grand River Avenue and Okemos Road, in front of the Meijer store in Meridian Township. Fast food chain Chipotle has been announced as one of the tenants in the new strip mall. Aspen Dental will also join them, according to the report.

So, yes, another of the national chains will be replacing a locally owned restaurant and tavern, following the trend that has been going on for decades, dating back to the 1980's. But, at least Chipotle will have a drive-thru (shouldn't it be through??), just like the newer Chick-Fil-A next door, and the brand new Panera Bread that replaced the former BD's Mongolian Barbecue across the road.

Graze away, sheeple!
