Aurelius Road Closed After Police Chase Ends In Crash

Aurelius Road is closed between Jolly and Cavanaugh Roads this afternoon. WLNS reports that a high speed police chase through South Lansing ended in a crash, forcing the closure. A female driver is hospitalized with serious injuries, but is expected to live. The media report cites the suspect’s vehicle speed near 90 miles per hour, and goes further to report that the suspect’s car struck a utility pole before hitting a tree. So far, there is no word as to why the suspect was fleeing from officers.
