The following post and video contain SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame, a movie that literally everyone on the planet has seen at least six times.

Look, he’s Captain America, not Super Spy of America.

Good thing, too. Clearly Chris Evans, the once and former Captain America, has an issue with secrets. He’s not as bad as Mark Ruffalo, but he still accidentally spoiled the massive ending of Avengers: Endgame for one of his co-stars — who also happened to be his successor as Captain America.

Last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Evans, who will next be seen in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out, revealed how he unintentionally told Anthony Mackie that he would be the one inheriting Captain America’s shield. Evans was given that piece of the Endgame screenplay early, and thought Mackie had been too. Sadly, he was, uh, wrong.

Nobody entrust Captain America with any state secrets or classified information. He is not mentally equipped to protect them. Avengers: Endgame is available now on home video.
