City of Lansing Marks $1.6 Million Towards Bridge Repairs

WILX.com reports that the City of Lansing has designated some $1.6 Million towards repair of road bridges within the city this construction season.

Two of the city's most deteriorated bridges that will see improvements because of the allocation are the railroad viaduct that crosses South Pennsylvania Avenue near Potter Park Zoo, which has been victim to many over-sized trucks striking it, and the Clemens Street/Aurelius Road overpass that crosses the Red Cedar River near Kruger's Landing.

Additionally, some bridges in Old Town will see improvements.

The report says that these bridges will not be completely reconstructed. Beams, boards, and supports are reported to be the city's priority with this funding.
