The Lansing State Journal is reporting that more Mid-Michigan municipalities are closing public facilities due to the quick spread of coronavirus across the state.

The City of Lansing, Meridian Township, and Delta Township have now joined the growing list of cities, villages, and townships to shut down non-essential services.

In Lansing, residents are encouraged to call ahead before visiting city hall and other offices, as a number of city employees will be working from home. City clerk services are by appointment only. And, all community centers and recreational programs within the city are closed and suspended through April 5.

Delta Township administrative offices and library are closed through April 5, as well. All public meetings and programs are also canceled through April 5, except for the Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, March 16 which will proceed.

Meridian Township is also closing offices and limiting access to other facilities. The Department of Public Works is also minimizing some of its services.
