Civil War Cannons Returning to Lansing’s Capitol

The last time there were Civil War cannons on the lawn of our Capitol in downtown Lansing was 1946; it's believed that they were scrapped for metal during World War II.

Two replica cannons, privately funded, will return to the Capitol on Saturday. You're all invited for the official unveiling, a Civil War re-enactment, firing of the cannons and more. Festivities begin at noon.
