The Lansing State Journal reports that the natural gas supply of Consumers Energy has been decreased, not only due to high usage during the cold temperatures, but also because of a fire at a natural gas compression station in Macomb County.

The gas flow supply to the affected station has been capped, and the fire is contained without injuries. But, as a result, Consumers Energy fears that their natural gas supply could become too stressed to serve all of its customers. So, they are asking customers to reduce gas usage and back the thermostat down a few degrees until the supply is back to normal levels.

According to the story, Consumers Energy expects to be back to 100 percent capacity some time Thursday. For full details, visit this link to LSJ.com.
