Copper Harbor Michigan Bike Trails Open Early This Year
With warmer temperatures here, mountain bike season is getting an early start this year at Copper Harbor Trails. It’s considered one of the most popular bike trail systems in the midwest. The Keweenaw Peninsula is an absolutely beautiful area with a very nice trail system at the very tip of Michigan.
The Copper Harbor trail system, part of the Keweenaw Peninsula’s 90-plus miles of singletrack mountain bike trails, has garnered a reputation for its beautiful scenery and challenging terrain. Its trails are designated a Silver Level Ride Center by the International Mountain Bicycling Association, making Copper Harbor the only Michigan destination to receive the distinction, and one of just two in the Midwest.
These trails are optimized for mountain biking, but all are accessible to all non-motorized activities. That could also include hiking, trail running, bird watching, taking photos and in the winter time skiing and snowshoeing. There is no fee to enjoy these beautiful trails, and it’s recommended that you plan your visit ahead by visiting the Copper Harbor Trails Club website.
You will find a lot of information there on the trails, activities and updates on their system through the summer. Merchants in the area are expecting a robust tourist season this summer with everybody ready to get out and go somewhere.
If you have never been to this part of Michigan, be ready to be amazed. I’ve written several stories on the breathtaking sights and communities located on the northern coast of Michigan. People describe it as like being in another world, so go find out for yourself. Get out and enjoy our beautiful state, it’s all there just waiting for you.
