Dantonio Says Michigan State’s LJ Scott Will Play After Arrest
Michigan State running back LJ Scott will play Saturday vs. Indiana, just three days after being arrested for driving on a suspended license.
MSU head coach Mark Dantonio issued a statement Friday afternoon indicating that Scott's status with the program will not change.
"In what has been a lengthy process, LJ Scott now has a valid driver's license, free of any restrictions," Dantonio said. "He has resolved the matter completely, and has paid a price, both financially and publicly.
"His status will be affected for Saturday's game, but he will play."
Scott's Wednesday arrest was his seventh infraction pertaining to driving without a valid license, according to the Lansing State Journal. The junior running back could face up to a year in jail.
Scott has rushed for 408 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. He's coming off his best performance of the year, when he carried the ball 25 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns last week at Minnesota.
MSU hosts the Hoosiers for homecoming at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
