Did Someone Crash Into The Meijer Gas Station Sign on Penn?

Honestly, it looks like a tornado hit this sign.

Funny, I don't remember it looking like that the other day.

That's because it didn't.

What you see in the photo above and below are the results of what we were told was a DUI crash.

I was driving past Meijer gas station on Sunday afternoon and I could swear the sign didn't look like this earlier this weekend.

According to folks at the gas station, the accident happened Saturday night/Sunday morning around midnight.

A truck headed south on Pennsylvania ran off the road and crashed into the gas station sign between the station pumps and Culver's.

I was told that the driver exited the vehicle pretty bloody, he was a male, and he was transported to the hospital where he was released.

Lucky to be alive with some scrapes and bruises, up next will be dealing with the authorities over the incident.

Lucky they didn't kill anyone or themselves.

Also VERY LUCKY that they crashed into the sign and not the gas pumps that were just yards away. Or the Culver's building.

Someone is going to have to pay for the damage done to the sign.

This is just one of several drinking and driving incidents from over the weekend.

One person is dead following a crash in Springport Township on Saturday, Jan. 8.
According to a release sent by Michigan State Police, the driver was driving south on Crawford Rd. near Bangham Rd. when the car ran off the roadway and hit a tree. Police did not say when the driver was pronounced dead. (WILX)

The story below happened early Friday night.

Michigan State Police are investigating a single car rollover crash that sent one person to the hospital.
According to MSP, the driver, a 30-year-old Mason man, crashed on eastbound I-96 near Okemos Rd. in Ingham County at 7 p.m. Friday night.
The driver was the only one in the vehicle and he was taken to a local hospital for his injuries. (WILX)
