Ever bust your hump shoveling or plowing snow off your sidewalk and driveway only to have those dang city or county snowplows come roaring through your neighborhood and pile it all back?

It's a battle on a scale as large as the Hatfield against the McCoys fued, the over versus under toilet paper roll conflict and even, dare I say...leaving the toilet seat up or  down battle - In other words, pretty serious stuff.

But before you go all left Twix on the city plows right Twix, you might want to be aware of the fact that it's actually against the law to shovel or plow snow, ice and slush onto any Michigan roadway or highway.

According to MICHIGAN VEHICLE CODE (EXCERPT) Act 300 of 1949 - 257.677a Obstruction of safety vision by removal or deposit of snow, ice, or slush prohibited.

Sec. 677a.
(1) As used in this section:
(a) "Person" shall not include the state or a political subdivision of the state or an employee of the state or a political subdivision of the state operating within the scope of his duties.
(b) "Safety vision" means an unobstructed line of sight enabling a driver to travel upon, enter, or exit a roadway in a safe manner.
(2) A person shall not remove, or cause to be removed, snow, ice, or slush onto or across a roadway or the shoulder of the roadway in a manner which obstructs the safety vision of the driver of a motor vehicle other than off-road vehicles.
(3) A person shall not deposit, or cause to be deposited, snow, ice, or slush onto or across a roadway or the shoulder of the roadway in a manner which obstructs the safety vision of the driver of a motor vehicle.
(4) A person shall not deposit, or cause to be deposited, snow, ice or slush on any roadway or highway

Note how specific item 4 is.

Now I understand how obstructing the vision of motor vehicles would happen by piling a mountain of snow in the road at the end of your driveway but I can't ever recall a time when my shoveling all the snow back into the road after a plow driver pi**ed me off obstructed any vehicle views. It's usually knee high amount of snow at best.

With that said, every once in a while I like to be that "bad boy" some ladies are attracted too, so I think I'll roll the dice and continue throwing the snow plow backwash into the road. Call me a rebel but that's how I'm gonna roll this year well, until I get my first fine, then all bets are off and all snow will be shoveled or plowed into my neighbors yard, the McCoys, I mean after-all, we're already constantly at each others throat all Summer, might as well carry it over into the Winter.
