The East Lansing City Council has voted in favor of making amendments to its city charter regarding possession and use of marijuana. According to WLNS.com, the adopted changes will decriminalize both transfer, use and possession of less than an ounce of weed for those 21 and older. Violators on private property will now be subject to a civil infraction that carries penalties of fines, community service, and required substance abuse courses.
