WILX.com is reporting that Charles Lewis Jr. has been arrested in Lansing after walking away from a juvenile group home in Metro Detroit. While on a work release, Lewis did not return to the home earlier this month on September 4.

Lewis was a part of the gang-related murder of Shayla Johnson in Lansing back in 2010. Being a juvenile a the time of his arrest, Judge George Economy gave Lewis a delayed sentence that allows Economy to review Lewis' standing at the age of 21.

Lewis reportedly has already had issues with alcohol use at the group home. His attorney attributes this to Lewis coping with his mother's cancer diagnosis. According to the story, Lewis' mother passed away last Sunday. He was captured by authorities early this morning.
