Facebook Adds Hug Button And Here’s Why It Matters

You've probably seen the posts about how "we huggers are struggling" during this time of social distancing and limiting contact, let's talk about why hugs are important.

Hi, I'm Maitlynn and I am a hugger. There is just something special about a hug. To me, it tells another person, "I embrace who you are, I accept you and I am happy to be here with you."

I also think it is a great way to physically show people they matter to you in a completely non-romantic way.

Though I do understand personal space and consent and will never invade someone's space for a hug when they tell me they are not a hugger, here is why hugs are important:
