A new poll that was released from the Gallup Poll, shows that fewer Americans believe in vaccinating their children.

According to WILX, they surveyed over 1,000 adults in the last few months.

Only 84% of the poll said that vaccinating their child was important. That is down from 94% from back in 2001. This decrease may be due to misinformation that has spread about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

A majority of the poll were unsure of vaccines at 46%, while 10% of people believe vaccines cause autism (the study that showed a causal relationship between vaccines and autism has been thoroughly debunked).

86% of Americans, however, believe that receiving a vaccines is no more dangerous than the diseases they protect against.
