Ford Announces Recall Of 1.3 Million Trucks and SUVs

WILX.com reports that Ford Motor Company has announced a major recall of some 1.3 Million of its pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles.

The majority of the affected models are 1.2 Million Ford Explorer SUVs from the 2011 through 2017 model years. These vehicles may have a faulty rear suspension toe link that may break and cause steering difficulties. There is one report of a driver hitting the curb after the part failure, but no injury reports.

Additionally, Ford is recalling, for the second time, approximately 123,000 2013 F-150 pickup trucks over a transmission issue that may force the vehicles to downshift while driving. The first attempt of a software update did not correct the original issue. So, dealers will try another update for the current recall.
