WLNS.com reports that former Michigan State basketball star Keith Appling has learned the fate of his near future after being sentenced in a Wayne County courtroom Thursday. A judge ordered Appling to spend one year in jail and serve an additional four years on probation after pleading guilty to concealed weapons and resisting arrest charges.

Appling reportedly accepted a plea deal from prosecutors after driving away from police at a traffic stop last August. According to the story, Appling had other charges against him dismissed.
