Free Rides For Tigers Opening Day
Do you smell that? That's the smell of ball park dogs and candied almonds!
Opening Day for the Detroit Tigers is right around the corner! They'll be taking on the Cleveland Indians on April 1, at Comerica Park. Game time is 12:10 p.m.
According to The Detroit News, Matthew Boyd will be the Detroit Tigers' starter. He started last year, but things looked a little different with zero fans in the stands. This year 8,000 fans are allowed to attend Opening Day. Boyd says he's honored to be starting again this year,
It’s an honor. It’s not something I take lightly. It’s going to be our first game back at Comerica. It’s so special. Opening Day in Detroit is a state holiday and to be able to be out there in front of the fans, we’re all excited.
If you plan on heading downtown early to booze it up, you can catch a free ride!
Husband and wife, Damon and Kaia Dickens, have teamed up to make it easier for you to get around on April 1. Their free transportation service is called Gest, which stands for Green Easy Safe Transportation, and it debuts on Opening Day.
Gest is super easy to use, just download their mobile app. Did I mention that they're rides are free? The rides are covered by advertisers. Tips are appreciated.
Gest first launched back in 2018 in Cincinnati. They're also available in Chicago and plan on expanding to Atlanta and Charlotte.
The carts reach up to 25 miles an hour and will be accessible around the entertainment areas of the city.
