The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration - NOAA - says that today should be a pretty non-eventful in terms of weather with partly sunny skies, a light breeze and temps in the upper 30s.

Tonight, though, NOAA, we could experience snow showers and freezing rain before midnight. Precipitation will eventually change over to rain showers as temperatures move from the freezing point towards morning.

Friday's forecast is for a 60% chance of rain through early afternoon with temperatures getting into the low 40s.

Just wanted you to have a heads-up for the possibility of light freezing rain north of I-96 for here in Ingham and surrounding counties.

Also, just a reminder as reported by WLNS TV 6, local law enforcement agencies and State Police are kicking off a "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign today that will be in place through New Year's Eve.

You're strongly encouraged to arrange a ride for yourself if you plan to be boozing it up - or if you plan to use marijuana! Just because recreational weed is legal, it's still against the law to use and drive.
